You should get out more. Or stay in more.

Breaking Bad ranks fairly low on my list right now. I'm sure I would like it, but I'm so far behind that I probably will wait until it's finished to catch up. I'm considering Deadwood, Veronica Mars and Six Feet Under as my next show to watch. One day I'll get to The Sopranos, too.

I think she made up the kid to get him to come with her.

I rewatched it and found myself really enjoying all of Elizabeth's scenes (and not just because she's hot). I also enjoyed Philip's scenes more, but the son thing really threw me off. I didn't think it was necessary at all. The one-true-love angle was enough to make Philip think about leaving everything behind. The son threw in an over-the-top wrinkle.

But it was another excellent episode, as a whole. I found myself liking it much more on the second viewing. Right now, the pilot might be the worst episode.

I really wish more people were watching this show. Its ratings don't stand up well, as it's failed to draw 2 million since the pilot. Justified, by contrast, has fallen below 2 million once. Southland, which airs on TNT, rarely hits 2 million, though.

I do think when the season concludes, the positive reviews will help. It should be very popular on Netflix and Hulu, which will allow people to catch up and get excited for Season 2 (which already has been scheduled, to my understanding). Mad Men didn't regularly top 2 million until Season 4 but averaged about 2.5 million last season. Breaking Bad had a similar jump for Season 5.

Where are you getting the ratings from and are you including DVRs? I read FX uses DVR numbers up to 3 days out in determining its ratings.

Those don't include DVR'd, at least past Wednesday. I can't find any recent numbers, but did see this from Salon (via Hollywood Reporter): Indeed, “The Americans” debuted with high ratings, and although fewer people tuned in after the first few weeks, ratings company Nielsen has attributed the decline to increased viewership on DVRs.

Or the son could have been a test to see if he is weak and a possible future mole. It could have been serving two purposes.

I just saw this episode (stupid OnDemand still runs a week behind). I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Russian secretary's ass and Phillip's old girlfriend's side boob.

Just wait until you get caught up. This week featured the most graphic sex I've seen on basic cable.

They seem to go back and forth every week with whether Phillip and Elizabeth love each other or not. The dramatic shifts would have a greater impact these two weren't as hot and cold with each other as a couple of high school kids.
