So what is the deal with the "turned" DoD employee? Can't he point the FBI to the Phillip and Elizabeth? And wouldn't this be a point where the KGB rotates them somewhere else like Silicon Valley, Los Alamos, or New York?

Which one? The Colonol or the guy with the gambling debts that recruited the colonol?

The Colonol never met Elizabeth, and only saw Philip for about 3 minutes, heavily disguised, with no names exchanged.

Gambler can give them a description of Elizabeth in heavy disguise and maybe a description of her car (which they've just seen in person and is about to be abandoned anyway), but that's about it. I suppose they could try to set up a sting, but there's not a chance in a million she sets up a meeting with him after he's been arrested like that.

    *Colonel.

Otherwise, I am under the same impression. They may improve their sketch of Elizabeth, but they won't get it to the point where Stan looks at her and says, "Wait a second..." Her disguises are very good, though admittedly not as good as Philip's.

I dunno. Stan's got some serious magical lazy writing intuition going.

I'm pretty sure he could look at me and just know my ATM PIN number, just because he's been in the field and all.

Didn't he literally just rat out his own operation? He's been full of flaws this season.

Oh, definitely. I love where they are going with his character in general. They are going to go on a massive leak hunt and he's not even going to realize it's him.

But I still get tired of his magical intuition. "I just know" is never something your characters should be saying.

But the FBI does not have pictures of them in any type of "wanted" or "person of interest" mug book, right?

My guess is he will be burned pretty hard for it. The show is aware of what it's doing with him, as seen when the lead FBI agent calls him out on his hunches.

  9. As someone mentioned earlier, I could see us getting to know Stan much, much better in the second season. Flashbacks to the Ozarks assignment, reasons why his marriage fell apart (something tells me there's more than just boredom and overwork there) and why his connection to Nina is so powerful.

That, by the way, is what I chalked the leak to. He genuinely needs Nina at this point, because his life is broken. Even work is shit now, because his partner was killed basically right under his nose. He's a powerless figure, which is new to him, and although this maybe could've been explained better in the last few episodes, I think that's going to contribute to more than a few mistakes and desperate leaps of faith.

And, of course, more trauma when he finds out Nina has double-(triple?) crossed him.

    Paki

  11. If someone wouldn't, that pretty much means they're gay.

Martha, Nina and Sandra (Stan's wife) all made series regulars. Guess none will be getting killed off. At least not too soon.
