I still maintain leaving the house and shouting "KGB!" upon her exit was more rash than anything she would have done with the gun. :D

It was extremely rash and possibly fatal.
Phillip can't protect her from everything, no matter how much he promises.

Given his state of mind, I can't believe that Phillip would agree to leave the house. Nor can I believe that Martha would have survived 10 seconds after Phillip left.

My guess is that he kills her tonight or that he hesitates and Elizabeth does it. Either way, Martha shouldn't make any plans after 11 p.m. tonight.

    I'm still going with suicide.

Speaking of Martha, I thought that was an interesting exchange between Stan and Dennis when talking about Martha.

    "Do you think she's attractive?"

    "There's something sexy about her."

I believe this exchange happened AFTER they found the dog-earred Kama Sutra. Should explain it.

I should know better than to be taken in by preview shots, but I hope Martha was calling the FBI, telling them "this has to end" and then throwing herself on their mercy. She does have a couple of bargaining chips, which is more than she has with the KGB.

I'm kind of enjoying the redemption of Stan lately.

That would be Martha's best move. Lots of tension!

Geez, they went commercial crazy at the start, no more than 3-4 continuous minutes of programming for the first 20 minutes or so.

OK, but she's totally going to kill herself in Russia. I'm going to turn into the wrestling fans with their prediction that every development leads to a Martha suicide/Cena heel turn.

The thing is, though, it no longer matters. I would assume as far as viewers are concerned, the second she leaves U.S. soil --- if she does --- what happens to her is of no consequence, because it no longer has any impact on the main characters.

The only thing that kept the Nina storyline breathing as long as it did was the remote possibility she could return or have some impact on Oleg or Stan. I have little interest in seeing a despondent Martha walk the streets of Moscow or learning how to say "Zdravstvuyte!"

    And the fact Nina's hot.

I figure Philip/Clark mercy kills Martha before the night's over. The way the Oleg/Tatiana scenes have played out, it seems like the "pilot" Tatiana has arranged has no intentions of Martha ever getting to Moscow.

By the way, saw the actress who plays Martha in something else other then "The Americans" for the first time. She plays Clarence Thomas' wife in HBO's "Confirmation."
