Milledge dives for a sinking liner from Pat Burrell. Ball comes out.

He has Howard dead to rights (by at least 10 feet) for a force at second but throws 10 feet to the first-base side of second.

How is that not an error?

Was listening to that on Gameday Audio and it's a weird one. You have to give the hit, so can you still give an error? In theory, at least, the runner should have been able to safely reach 2nd because of the hit. But yes, the runner was dead-to-rights. And probably should have been, because you can't go too far to 2nd because of the danger of being doubled off first.

And now Lieber, pitching brilliantly, takes a 2-out grounder back to the mound and unleashes one of the worst throws in the history of baseball. Delgado single and now the Mets are in business.

Lieber's throws to first all year have been terrible. Dude, YOU'RE A FUCKING PITCHER. ALL YOU DO IS THROW THE BALL. IT'S YOUR ONLY JOB. Get the ball a few feet to first.

Edit: Now Rollins and Burrell watch a ball fall between them. Bring in the goddamn dancing bears.

I've never wanted to attend a Reds game until now.

    Damn.

  7. Orioles throw a combined one-hitter against the Yanks. Adam Loewen walks five batters, but an impressive outing for the rookie.

Hey O's management: Keep playing the kids and stop signing Kevin Millar and Russ Ortiz!

Twins off to a 4-0 lead, looking to TCB with another win over the Royals.

Final records in the Central might be suitable for framing.

So, is there anyone who doesn't own Carmona?

Man, I hope that guy is the Indians closer of the future. What a suck wad.

Damn, you beat me to it, Overrated. But that's ok.

Carmona knew exactly what was going to happen after he threw it. Hopefully his roommate will keep him off the ledge tonight.
