Some cherry wood-smoked chicken with the weather breaking a little bit this weekend.

That is some food I would actually enjoy eating. Very nice.

Ribsing today. Photos to come. Going for less bark than previously. My brother-in-law brought me back some rubs from KC BBQ joints, so I’m trying that out.

That BBQ tray from Brooklyn is one of the worst things I've ever seen. It looks like prison food. I want to slap everyone involved.

Brooklyn BBQ is like going to the beach in Gary.

Don't let that bad photo fool you. There's plenty of good barbecue in NYC. Even in Brooklyn.

Hometown Bar-B-Que, in Red Hook, routinely shows up on the list of best barbecue joints in America.

Also, that photo accompanies a story from 2014, so I'm not sure why it went viral this year.

    WTF with this correction?

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly located Brooklyn in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is in New York.

Chicago has some good ones, too. Smoque comes to mind.

I like Slows in Detroit, too. Not all northern BBQ is bad, but the BBQ in that picture is bad, and so are the people who made it and ate it.
