The best way for Dad to make his kids not cool anymore is to make sure all those teenagers' parents know about them.

Well, LeBron James went to an actual established high school, not a barnstorming AAU team.

So you don't think Chino Hills is "an actual established high school"?

Dude, Chino Hills is a real city in the Inland Empire in So Cal. Chino Hills High School is a real public high school in the real city. The coach may be running the squad like an AAU team and is an absolute joke of a coach but that doesn't change that Chino Hills is a real place.

I drove out to Chino High the night a local hoops coach was gunning for his 500th win. Got it.

Chino Hills opened in 2001. Its athletic tradition consists of whatever AAU barnstorming franchise has decided to adopt it for the moment.

LeBron James' high school, St Vincent/St Mary, opened in 1897-1906. Although to some extent it's an AAU all-star superteam too. Pretty much everyone is now.

So when a rapidly growing suburb builds a new public school it's not legit? If only they had the same integrity in athletics as old Catholic schools all over the country.

The fly by night AAU franchises taking over HS programs all over the country. Some of the worst offenders are the old Catholic schools.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Chino Hills is a suburb. It needed a high school. The enrollment is approximately 3,000 students.
