I think it was important that Kylo Ren not be as powerful as Vader, at least not yet. It would give his character nowhere to go in the next two movies. Instead, we see a petulant, tantrum-throwing kid who wants nothing more than to fill his granddaddy's helmet and is still figuring things out. He thinks killing his dad is a step toward that. Maybe it is and maybe it isn't. Also, if he were as powerful as Vader already, he would have sliced and diced Rey and Finn in the woods and that would be the end of it.

I like how this first movie set the paths for the three main characters - Rey toward learning her heritage and embracing the force, Ren toward living up to Vader's name and becoming truly evil, and Finn ... well I'm not sure where Finn goes. Maybe trying to nail Rey?

If you believe the toys, Finn is related to Lando ...

Hard to believe since Kenner went out of business more than 10 years ago. That's a nice likeness to the old packaging. Kenner was awesome. I gave a lot of Super Powers and Real Ghostbusters figures to my nephew. Never had any original SW figures.

I had quite a few. Sadly, I actually played with the things rather than leaving them in the boxes.

I don't find that sad at all. You're richer for it in a better way.

Was gonna say ... By sadly you mean like a normal human being right?

By sadly, I mean I could use the cash. Those things are worth a lot of money.

But seriously, no, I don't really regret it. Not sure I qualify as normal, but I never considered leaving those toys in the boxes when I was a kid. Hell, I usually had those boxes open before I got home.

I had a huge Stars Wars amount of figures and other stuff.
    Huge.
Never a collector, just played with them when I was kid. No idea what happened to them after I left my parents' house.

I have a ton of action figures in two Darth Vader carrying cases at my mom's house. My kids play with them now when they go over there.

I had a small collection of Star Wars toys from the 90s that were stolen during a burglary (they were all in a box). I don't know if they would be worth anything loose but I did see some unboxed being sold for $50 each a couple of years later.

No kid, no matter what their situation, should be getting toys and keeping them in boxes to enhance their value as a "collector's item." Dear god. Save that for the stunted adults.

I had so many damn Star Wars toys including a Falcon that I adored and beat to hell. Loved every minute of it.
