Two of the President's top aides, and they don't know a thing about it.

I wonder if Rahm & Ax like to drink a lot of iced tea.

This looks to be Valerie Jarrett's deal:

The problem for Obama is, he can't throw Valerie under the bus. She's among he and his wife's best friends, and was a mentor to Michelle.

They frequently dine and vacation together.

Obama is stuck with her and with Solyndra.

On the other hand, every automobile and airplane company was instantly successful, and those industries needed no technological advances over the past 100 years to make them operate efficiently.

Airlines, every one of them, would go under were it not for government support.

He should call Clinton to set up Valerie's "suicide". :D

Does that include JetBlue and Southwest?

Do their planes fly out of airports paid for by the government, controlled by air traffic controllers paid by the government, etc.?

The best way to break this addiction is through technology. Since 2001, we have spent nearly $10 billion to develop cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable alternative energy sources -- and we are on the threshold of incredible advances.

That's a fair point, but there's a big difference between the way those two airlines do business and the way some of the others, especially United, which seems to go to the government for a handout every two years or so...

"For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of our economy calls for action, bold and swift. And we will act, not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We'll restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do."

I didn't know you were such a Bush fan and deferred to his statements when discussing an issue.

Big difference though there may be, they would no more exist without government support than any of the others.
