I try not to worry TOO much about grammar and spelling, but I am an editor and am looking for an intelligent woman, so if she writes like a third-grader she ain't getting no response from me.

Late to this thread, won't read 9 pages worth, but I dated one woman for a year who I met on Match, and I'm dating a current person -- a corporate tax attorney with GE, she negotiates tax deals with states -- for 16 months, also Match.com.

So it can work, at least this has so far.

Seriously, might be the age bracket, perhaps more serious people when you get into the 40s and 50s.

This is absolutely, positively true, as someone who has used one site a bit in my early 20s, and then again now that I'm in my late 20s.

Make sure to cut bait if that status changes.

You're attracted to the crazy. It happens to the best of us.

I always say I don't want drama. You'd never know it from the girls I date.

End a sentence with a preposition? What do you take me for?

Depending on what you're looking for, each site varies.

Match — Long-term potential. Most probably want to get married sooner than later.
OKCupid — Not marriage, but not another one-night stand. Something marginally substantial in a relationship.
Plenty of Fish — Believe it's one of the biggest dating sites out there, so you have your share of everything. It's a grab bag.

    Edited for clarification.

I'll let my girlfriend know she's marginally substantial.

"current person" indeed calls into question what' I've done with my life for close to 40 years.

Meant the relationship, not the people on the site. Haven't heard of too many people getting married off OkCupid.

I know of two that are on their way.

I'm glad that it's beginning to turn around. Heard of more horror stories off OKCupid than Match and more marriages from Match than OKCupid, so it's good for there to be some balance of success stories.
