I'd give anything to not care about things like grammar and punctuation.

Actual message I just received on a dating site:

"I grew up plowing a mule and then on a tractor thats when i started to dream and thats when life started to move real fast so now i can kick back and enjoy life I made it"

    My pet peeve, too.
If you don't care enough to spell, capitalize and punctuate correctly in something that's supposed to make a good first impression, you're not going to work for me.

That said, one of the creepier ones I read used the words "non-controlling" to describe himself. This was no essay, mind you. Maybe two sentences. I cannot imagine -- and wouldn't want to deal with the baggage that comes from -- the circumstances that lead someone to, in their top descriptors, call themselves "non-controlling."

After reading this thread, I've made a promise to myself: if my wife splits or dies or whatever, I'm done. No dating. Random hook ups if I'm still physically capable, but I'm going into hermit mode. I don't think I'm going to deal with this shit again.

The idea was exciting for about two weeks. The reality is flat-out depressing.
