This is for people who are too lame to do that.

This all just seems like so much work - doing homework to meet a partner.

I met an ex online (eharmony). I asked her once what made her respond to me. She said it was that my college degree is in English.

It had nothing to do with my picture, my "interests and hobbies," or anything else I spent time crafting.

Self-reporting motivations is not reliable data.

Wrong. My experiences are 100 percent reflective on everyone else in society.

Mine too. So in that case: Whatever you do, do *not* marry that woman you meet in college because she's got a nice body and you figure the personality will come around. Because it will work the opposite way.

Because I am a nerd and this is what I do, I did a lot of research into online dating profiles before I made one. If all you care about is response rate and not necessarily finding quality hits, this ish works. It's like advertising: Nobody thinks it works on them, but we know that it works.

Sexual attraction can't be manipulated or faked.
And that is the bedrock layer of a relationship, IMO.
It's either there to start or it isn't.

What if "The One," the highest-quality of quality hits, isn't interested in any of that? All you're doing is guaranteeing quantity.

Agreed. I said as much a few times already.

Try flattery - the favored tool of the cult recruiter.
Just ask the libertarians and the longformers.

He literally said "if all you care about is response rate and not necessarily finding quality hits."
