That has crossed my mind, but she's also discovered religion as part of her rebound, so I don't think so.

Also, last time I tried that I got stuck in a 10-year marriage, so I think we're taking that play out of the playbook.

Hey Rick, enjoying what is amounting to your on-line dating blog! Just curious how you are bringing your boy into conversation? What has been the reaction from the women?

@Creosote. I may have missed it but I thought on a differnet thread you referenced having a child. Belated congrats if I missed if/when you told the board.

It's right there in the profile. I think it's probably caused a few women to look elsewhere, but not many. But then, I'm picky about who I message so maybe I'm self-selecting the type of people for whom it wouldn't be a problem.

Generally, the standard for online dating is "Hi, I'm Rick. Here's a question about something I noticed about your profile that I liked" and if they are at least vaguely interested, they respond with "Hi, Rick, I'm Six. Here's my answer to your question, and now I'll comment on something in your profile that I liked."

I'd say 80% of the women I get responses from choose to comment on the fact that I'm a single dad committed to my special needs son. So it seems to be pulling them in.

There was a woman on POF today whose headline was "Ask me about my favorite serial killer"

I'll take that over "Ask me about my fantasy team" :)

Good luck and keep us posted.

I did ask. It was H.H. Holmes, who apparently set up a murder house in Chicago in the late 1890s for the World's Fair

I'm probably done talking to this woman in Chicago.

See, that would be a dealbreaker for me.

John Wayne Gacy was a murdering clown. As serial killers go that has to be the gold standard.

I'm guessing she's probably a fan of the book The Devil in the White City.

I'll say this for Bundy -- it takes an otherworldly confidence to abduct women while driving an old VW Beetle.
