This guy knows that the internet dating world is a cesspool. More than I hope anyone of us will know.

I gave a couple of ex-girlfriends the business back in the infancy of Internet dating. Otherwise I've stayed away from it.

No, but there are certain things, and I think they are asked in your profile, that people should be honest about.

Kids, marriage, income, felonies, age, communicable diseases. You know, the big stuff.

That guy sounds like a nutjob.

Made the rookie mistake when I started on eHarm of seriously talking to someone who had no profile photo. She had contacted me the first day I was signed up. When I finally saw the photo, I was completely unattracted to her. Unfortunate, but part of who you want to date is how compatible you are physically. I sort of just stopped talking to her after that. Felt bad, but whatever. Never made the mistake again.

Ready to jump this thread, having held my nose and plunged into the online dating cesspool.
Heard a guy prattle on and on and on about his Match/OK Cupid/Plenty of Fish woes last night at a Meetup bar trivia fest - the kind of stuff that gives guys a bad rap, and prompts women to change teams. Learned some valuable lessons about what NOT to do in this game.

Is it the guy who works at a place with the initials EGP?

No, this dude's actually a high school teacher. The ladies can probably smell his negative attitude from Boston.

Friends of ours met through jdate and are now happily married. And, frankly, I would have thought both of them were virtually undateable, so the fact that they found each other would seem to speak highly of it.

How long have they been 'happily married'?
That is an often transient state of being.
