I'm no fan of "Darlington County" but I'll take it over "Glory Days" any time. I would have loved to hear "I'm Goin' Down".

For me, there were two run for a beer and a piss spots (fortunately I was at the end of a row by an exit): "Magic" and "Town Called Heartbreak". The rest was just killer.

    agreed.

i would expect tonight's msg setlist to be sensational. bruce revs it up a notch on his second night in the same town to surprise the many repeat customers.

  3. "Adam" does seem to be Bruce's cue to get really full of himself as a vocalist, but it's a vastly superior song qua song to either "Darlington" or the execrable "Glory Days."

I thought that "Adam Raised a Cain" into "Long Time Comin'" would be interesting. I think that the latter is in many ways the sequel to "Adam"

Thematically I never thought of it before, but that would be very interesting. Musically however the change would be to jarring :)

Anyone here have an extra for tonight's show?

  7. I am assuming that he's lightening up a little in concert, too.
As much as I like Magic, it's a dark-ass record. Even The Rising had "mary's Place."

No worse than Darlington County into Devil's Arcade!

    The wife bought Magic.

Several tracks I found quite striking, including Radio Nowhere, Girls in their Summer Clothes and Magic.

But, when he's got to reach back to an embarassing Vietnam-era John Kerry speech for a song ... feh.

Why not sample Howard Dean's screech, too?

    Well, it's easily enough skipped.

tonight's setlist at msg will be tough to beat:

    1. Radio Nowhere 2. NIGHT 3. Lonesome Day 4. Gypsy Biker 5. Magic 6. Reason to Believe 7. CANDY'S ROOM 8. SHE'S THE ONE 9. Livin' In The Future 10. THE PROMISED LAND 11. Tougher Than The Rest 12. MEETING ACROSS THE RIVER 13. JUNGLELAND 14. You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch) 15. Devil's Arcade 16. The Rising 17. Last To Die 18. Long Walk Home 19. BADLANDS

Encores: 20. Girls in their Summer Clothes 21. THUNDERCRACK 22. BORN TO RUN 23. Dancing in The Dark 24. American Land

Even without "Thunder Road," this had to be the best show yet on this tour. Nine songs from his '70s collection (IN CAPS). 8) 8) 8)
