The "Magic" is missing

Well, he was going to do it for Devils and Dust, but he wasn't happy with the recording. I'm guessing that we'll get a live release from this tour, maybe in connection with a remaster of Darkness for its 30th.

Columbia Records has released Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's 'Magic Tour Highlights' via all digital download stores, including the iTunes Store. The release will consist of four audio tracks with four accompanying videos, all recorded live in concert during the 'Magic' tour.

Bob Clearmountain mixed and Bob Ludwig mastered the songs. Frequent Springsteen collaborator and GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winner Thom Zimny edited the videos.

On sales of these downloads, the artists, songwriters, and music publishers are waiving all of their royalties, and Columbia Records is donating all of its net profits, to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. The iTunes Store is donating their first year's net profits as well.

Last show of the tour tonight at Harleyfest on the lakefront in Milw., reportedly before a crowd of 100,000 'motorcycle enthusiasts'.

I actually liked Giants Stadium Night 3 and the St. Louise show sets better . . . . .

But yeah, that's awesome. Damn, I wanna see this band again.

 

Wild, wild show. No seats; festival/blanket lawn seating. Crowd estimated in various reports in the neighborhood of 100,000. Patti Scialfa a no-show, this is no longer considered unusual or worthy of comment by Bruce.

The finale of "The Rising" tour in 2003 at Shea Stadium (I flew in for that one) went just about 3:40. This might have been his longest show since the BITUSA tour.
