I was there on 9/25/99 as well and have seen it several times since then as well, but I didn't know if you were one of those fans who loves Incident but has never seen him play it or not.

I'd rank Incident on 9/25/99 as my favorite Bruce concert moment ever. Maybe not the best performance -- like Thunder Road, Bruce doesn't quite buy into the desperate romanticism of the song anymore -- but the crowd's reaction made it so special.

I really like "Your Own Worst Enemy", one of my fave songs on the new album.

  4. Many thanks for all the pit info. I'll let you know how it works out in a few weeks.

    The beginning sounds like a Fender-heavy 867-5309.

Backstreets is reporting that Arcade Fire joined Springsteen last nigth in Ottawa for the encores and they did "State Trooper", AF's "Keep The Car Running", a song I just love and "Born To Run". Will "Keep The Car Running" stay in the set tonight n Toronto? I'll be there....

  7. I have decided that I love this record.
The orchestrations -- especially on "Your Own Worst Enemy" and "Girls...." --sound like things George Martin might have dreamed up for Rubber Soul or Revolver, and "Long Walk Home" is brooding Bruce at his finest.

I agree with those two, f-b.

I really like how Your Own Worst Enemy ends. Direct shot at the current occupants, not that they'd be able to fathom that.

Hell, Rudy will probably use it as a them song for the election, thinking it's a song about keeping the terrorists at bay.

Last night, the magic and the "Magic" were not missing at MSG. Great show and Bruce was really into it. Fairly standard setlist and somewhat short on duration (about 2:10-2:15), but an excellent show.

Surprisingly, the NYC crowds have always been more hostile to his political speeches than their counterparts in Philly, Boston, NJ and DC.

Great fit. I hear Springsteen influence all throughout "Neon Bible." And a little Joy Division and a splash of ELO too.

Terrific show in Toronto on Monday night. No real surprises but some of the new stuff sounded really good and we got kick-ass versions of "Candy's Room", "Badlands", "Reason To Believe" and "Dancing In The Dark".

  12. "Badlands" is the best set-opener I've ever heard except for when The Who used to open with Entwistle's "Heaven And Hell."
