Seems like every time there's a domestic violence case, some major media member steps in it, ala SAS saying women shouldn't provoke men after Ray Rice.

She 'battered' him 3 times without bodily injury. Where's the reasonable in bodily injury?

You skipped over the "or offensive physical contact."

His response was disproportionate which infers and connotes an intent to do serious physical injury, it is an objectively unreasonable response. It is not hot blooded response to legally adequate provocation. At best it is imperfect self defense.

At worst it shows a reckless disregard for human life

Maybe I missed the part where she died, but could you tell me again how imperfect self defense comes into this?

Even if it was applicable, the video pretty clearly shows her to be the aggressor. She motions him over. They talk. He turns to walk way and then she comes after him. Imperfect self defense applies only when the person asserting it was the initial aggressor.

Why in the name of all that is holy is anyone arguing with @franticscribe here?

OOP has only 23 hours left to argue, then he'll be off to ruin the NFL thread for a few hours.

Not that I'm any less guilty, but it astounds me what rhetorical hills posters choose to die on.

Correct me if I'm wrong @Dick Whitman and @franticscribe you are defending him in legal terms only, not his actions?

I get the lawyer defended, what I don't get is how a man can't think of what other reasonable solutions could be.

Shotty, here are 3 solutions, walk away, grab her arms or at worse push her way. It's really not that hard.
