Is the Daily Planet a Gannett paper? If it is, that story is too long. It should only be 6 inches. And does a former resident of Krypton count as a mainstream source?

Grover Norquist would have demanded Reagan's conservative badge after all those tax increases.

Amusing to see the little fella who proudly admitted he took a five-figure handout from his parents to establish his world-shaking expresso biz piss and moan about nepotism.

Just in case you're wondering, for the majority of my career, I worked for non-union papers. And yes, it definitely shaped my thinking.

Guess what: BOTH my parents were in journalism. Both had plenty of friends in newspaper management AND ownership, including their best man. Not once did I ever ask any of them for a job, a job lead, a job reference, for anything. Period. In fact, I made sure I steered clear of their properties.

That's all for now. I feel brain cells leaking out of my ears even carrying on this conversation. Pour me another latte, coffee boy.

What I've done in my career is going to endure. What you've done in your career will be gone as soon as your customers take a piss and pull the urinal handle.

Unless you're being ridiculously technical, you're just wrong. Although he was not elected president the first time around, he assumed office in April 1945, meaning that when he ran in 1948, he was very much running as an incumbent. That's the whole "Dewey defeats Truman" thing.

  7. Words have meaning. Truman only ran for President once. You can say he was the incumbent but you cannot say he was re-elected President.

The comparison isn't between you and me. You defined the parameters, and it's between you and Reagan.

Reagan's legacy is already secure. It will endure. He literally changed the world.

How will your career endure? Cut out articles, growing yellow inside the pages of Timmy's mommy's scrapbook?

Sorry, but Reagan's still coming out ahead in my book. Still waiting for some evidence of your genius.
