The new "Star Wars" trailer

After re-watching the originals, the biggest thing that irks me is that the "Dark Side" constantly refers to itself as the "Dark Side." That's too much self-awareness for me. Even the baddiest of the bad, like Nazis and ISIS, are under the delusion that they are actually the good guys.

You really think Nazis thought they were the good guys? Maybe they hated Communists more, but I doubt many self-aware Germans thought they were fighting the good fight.

Most Germans were unaware of the bad things, they just loved Germany

Dick specifically said Nazis. I suspect they knew they were the bad guys.

I think most NAZIs thought they were justified and correct in their actions and we're not evil.

    So most Nazis lacked self-awareness?

No. They felt they were entitled and justified in their actions. They knew what they were doing and believed it was good.

Forbes Review: The Empire Strikes Out

    POTENTIAL SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW

It seems my worst fears are realized and this movie is a recycling of A New Hope with characters shuffled around. From the reviewer: "The film follows the structure of A New Hope to such a significant degree that I spent much of the first act wondering if I was watching the Star Wars equivalent of Gus Van Sant’s Psycho."

That's what "Creed" did, too, though, and it was excellent.

    "Jurassic World," too.

Episode 1 is always an origin story, see Spider Man, The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man. Batman, Batman Returns. Superman. Man of Steel. X-Men ... Every Marvel Stand Alone part 1 was an origin story. Henry IV Part 1 and Henry IV Part 2

I don't care. If anyone cares you are over thinking a movie.

I had the misfortune of wasting $4.99 on Jurassic World on Amazon a few weeks ago, but I think it more original than this appears to be. I didn't like Jurrasic for the ridiculousness of the t-rex/raptor and the female lead running around in high heels.

I understand that. What I don't understand is why (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) they are seemingly recycling several plot points from the first origin story.

My best guess is to avoid pissing off the diehards and putting together something to build off of. And it is a pretty simple storyline.
