I've got my tickets for tonight and I've actually managed to do a good job of steering clear of spoilers. I haven't read and reviews, only seen the Rotten Tomtatoes numbers Dick has posted.

I really know very little about the story, which is the first time I can say that going into a movie this large. That excites me more than anything, that I won't be expecting anything so I'll be taking it all in frame by frame. I think if they had done the trailers in a different way, that would be impossible. Just look at the Batman v Superman trailer that practically spells out the story arch. But all of the Star Wars trailers, at least the ones I have seen, simply introduce new characters, give a few glimpses of action and reveal some of our old favorite characters. That has been very refreshing.

I'll post more on the spoilers thread, but I'll say this here: The Force Awakens was miles more fun than any of the prequels. It didn't take itself so deathly seriously and, holy hell, the two hours zipped by. Great pacing, lots of laughs and some incredible visuals.

The plot isn't groundbreaking, but as someone upthread predicted, it does set up the others nicely.

Yeah, thanks a lot. It's taking me a lot of discipline not to click on that thread. And I won't be seeing it til after the holidays, more than likely. :(

BTW, I'll take the bait and say this is despicable. For 99 percent of us, seeing a girl unconscious in various states of undress is not anything to consider sexually. It's like you and Bill Cosby.
