On3 makes the most sense. It's the latest Shannon Terry endeavor (take that as you will), but it apparently is flush with cash.

Have been an Athletic subscriber for a while now. Was going to cancel when my renewal came up in July because I thought the $71 price point was just a little too high. They immediately offered me a loyalty discount, $24 for the year with free access to NYT games. I took it. Just a pro tip for everyone.

I was about to pull the plug on the Times (trad sub) and they went from $17/month to $4/month, like that. I said yes. I didn’t get Games, though.

With Ivan retiring, or stepping back or whatever it is, this move makes more sense now.

I had an Athletic sub and also an NYT sub, which I upgraded to include more Food items (recipes). The Athletic is included in that, and after linking the accounts it's all good. Less $$. I don't know how the Athletic is making any money; I totally ignore the ads (pretty much everywhere) and don't click on anything. But at least they have a ride with the NYT, for now.

    It's very sad.

The Athletic makes no money. So who knows where it's at in 3 years.

Four percent is just the appetizer for the bean counters.

Bummed to hear about Kravitz. Though I could never figure out the routine/rhythm with his work there.
