Right. He just hasn't even had a little bit in a long time.

I can't believe I'm the first to mention this but didn't anyone else love the part where they're reading the article on the Wall Street Journal website? They read the first few paragraphs and then they have to pay $1.99 to see the rest. I thought it was hilarious and I'm surprised that with all the newspaper people on this forum that nobody else mentioned it. I thought it was kind of a tongue-in-cheek jab at the newspaper industry.

What did you think of last nights? It didn't do a whole lot in terms of advancing the plot but I thought it was pretty funny.

I liked that Michael (and Oscar) didn't save the day
Thought the sprint for the limo was hilarious

Dwight going from cheers to puzzled looks as he pursues the "improving the microphone lines" suggestion

And Pam's patronizing of Jim was a good turn, rather than idolizing him

the only thing that bothered me about both of those scenes is that after they all ran to the limo, including Dwight and Andy, in the closing scene Dwight and Andy are still at the conference.

Still, a funny episode and more along the lines of what they've done in the past. And I can't for the life of me figure how that branch is successful at all, aside from it creating plot lines like last night's.

Loved how Jim's prank nature came out as a boss, sending Ryan into a closet office. Nice way to get the office's attention. IIRC, he moved Dwight's desk into the men's room once.

Such a terrible intro. Way off the wall.

I think Gannett was the inspiration for last night's episode. Michael told a senator to shut up. I was really waiting for him to explain to the senator how he was doing so well, then he announced the 7 Dundy Awards. Eeek. It would have been nice for Michael or Oscar to give a plan and see it succeed.

I loved the closing, loved Jim putting Ryan in the closet, but other than that, it was just kinda blah to me.

Jim seems to be trippin' on his co-manager power.

Really? I don't get that at all.

I think it's been in line with any other point in the series when he's been put in charge or asked to lead on something (the multiple birthday cake example is first that comes to mind). The common thread is that he's always tried to get the respect of everyone in the office, but because of his personality and past, they don't. In order to try to get their respect, he acts like a bit of a dick/stuck up.

It was, but wasn't it the "Green" theme last night? 30 Rock had Al Gore. They probably had to do something to fit in so that was it.
