Her character would have settled Michael into complacency. We can now look forward to a season of a moping, moody and melancholy Michael. Definitely more in the funny realm

Agreed. Also, with her personality it was like having an extra Michael, and that's already a character where a little goes a long way.

I thought the Pam/Jim's brothers dynamic would be a little funnier, less seemingly cruel. Darryl and Michael singing the blues was hilarious.

Michael and Holly just ... stopped. I asked out loud, "This is IT?"

The opening, however, should have been a little more played out through the first half of the episode.

  4. You guys are probably right. But then again, Michael - next to Jan - is my least favorite character on the show.

When it came back and no one was in costume, my friend and I just stared at each other. She actually asked me "did we just see that?" It was a little odd. Funny, but odd.

I wonder if they added the halloween stuff after the fact. It was jarring.

I was watching Volume 3 of the Wire's fifth season last night -- yes, I'm behind on it -- and saw McNulty's girlfriend. Hey...that's Holly from The Office. She's kind of growing on me.

She actually first made her appearance as a port cop in Season 2.

So when she showed up on the Office, I was like, "hey! It's Beadie from The Wire!"

Ok, I loved the Halloween stuff but here's a question.....

Wasn't the entire episode (seemingly) shot during the course of one day? I mean, Michael and Holly's trip was suppose to be around eight hours and the whole Jim/Pam thing couldn't have gone on for a period of more than six or seven hours so the whole episode, which contains the beginning and end of each subplot, couldn't have been more than one business day at DM.

So, with that being said, isn't it safe to say this was an error of some sort? There still should have been characters dressed up towards the end of the DM scenes and Andy was back in regular clothes post-opening.

Major goof or am I missing something?

Other than that, I thought this was a great episode. If for nothing more than the Dwight/Andy confrontations. I seriously hope Angela ends up with neither of them and marries someone completely out of left field, like Kevin or Oscar.

I didn't get the idea it was all intended to be one day. Pam was out of her costume and had her hair back to normal by the time she met Jim and his brothers.

It felt like the whole costume thing was a little throwaway to get the episode started.
