Too much of a good thing, though. The eccentricities of the minor characters are great in small doses. They let that Kevin scene drag on way, way, way too long. Someone compared last night's "Office" to a sketch comedy show, and that was spot-on, I thought. The Kevin thing felt like an "SNL" skit that has you looking at your watch. Lazy writing, in my opinion.

Looking for some background on the Gervais opening...looks like they shot it a couple different ways, or in different takes, the editing is a little choppy. Just a great classic scene.

I agree. Definitely not a compliment to say that a minor character had to carry an episode written to revolve around Andy and the awful Michael/Holly subplot.

    Last night's cold open? Incredible.

The rest of the show? Horrible ... probably one of the season's worst, IMO.

Laughed pretty hard at Creed's description of ... the Loch Ness monster.

Seriously? Not one person commented on the last episode?

Maybe that's how little we thought of it? idk. Like any episode lately, about a third of it made me laugh, a third made me cringe, and a third of it was boring. The most confusing thing to me is how bad Holly looks; I feel like she's been aged-up like 10 years between appearances.

Yeah, she looks awful. Erin, on the other hand...I'm starting to see where people are coming from on her.

I know there's a Parks & Rec thread, but no one writes on it, so I'll ask here - where was Rashida Jones this week?

Community was awesome. Just saying. I'll dig up that thread as well.

Bad Office episode this week. No Jim again, which is fine since he and Pam suck and basically have no place anymore. Holly is so mediocre that it doesn't even matter. Its obvious she has only been written into the show to get Michael out of the show.

Ryan has changed into a different character again. Clean shaven and wearing normal clothes in this episode.

Erin has also been making a big change in the last season. Moving from the nice girl to the weird girl. I know this isn't new, but she is so dumb/strange.

Oscar may have had the best line of the night "Ryan, I talked to the other gay guys and we decided its okay if you get married"

I've accepted that the Office is just kind of "eh" now. There isn't another show I'd rather watch at 8 p.m. on Thursday, so I keep watching, and for the most part, I still enjoy it. But it's in year 7. And it's like the show is just going through the motions.

It's kind of a shame Community and Parks & Rec don't get more discussion here, but I'm as guilty as anyone of watching and not posting.

I thought Rashida Jones was in the episode this week (albeit briefly). With just a half hour, and a lot of primary and secondary characters, I think there will always be someone who ends up with the short end of the screen-time stick. P&R seems like one of those shows that may have eight to 10 minutes of great deleted footage every episode. I'm more curious about the guy they completely cut out of the show without any mention at all. It was almost like once Rob Lowe showed up, there was no need for the first guy.

Are you talking about Mark Brandanowicz? I thought they said he took another job when the Pawnee government shut down, after Ann broke up with him. Obviously that's code for "Actor thinks he can do better," but I thought I remembered them at least explaining it on the show.
