I could well be in the minority. But I don't see a storyline like that and count how many times I've seen the storyline before. I let it play out on its own merit.

I'm not consciously trying to "county how many times I've seen the storyline before." It's just predictable at this point, and it is difficult to escape that. I'm not surprised when a team punts on fourth down and I'm not surprised when a storyline progresses right along the same lines as every storyline before it. I would rather they come up with something fresh. But since they're mailing in most everything else on "The Office" these days, why not that, too?

What a dark end to the episode last night .... And it starts with Robert California. Don't get him and his style, and he's the complete 180 of Michael Scott. I suppose that's what they were going for, but they didn't draw me in. I can't stand his character. Not funny.

As far as Andy and Erin, yeah, I'll root for them. But they need to tone down Erin's dumbness if it's going to happen. It doesn't work if she becomes a main character.

And I disagree with Dick about Ryan ... loved him when he went to NYC, only to get hooked on coke and eventually come back to get his old intern job back. That totally reminds me of every college graduate today getting a dose of reality (doodah).

Really not liking the Robert California we've seen the past few weeks either. I liked him in the beginning as the guy with the big ideas that nobody else could understand. Now he's just an a-hole.
It's funny you mention Erin's dumbness, because I thought they really toned that down in last night's episode, and I liked her a lot more than I usually do.
I also agree on Ryan. He needed a dose of reality, though I liked his smarter-than-everyone-else period too, when he was going to make it big in social media.

I don't know how "WUPHF" didn't catch on.

I'm with the crowd that's not totally into Erin-Andy at this point. It feels like the warmed-over, reheated version of Pam and Jim, or Michael Scott and Holly, or Dwight and Angela, or Daryl and that shipping girl, or... etc. The Office hit gold with Pam and Jim in the initial seasons, and since then, they've constantly tried to redo it with different actors. If it's someone like Steve Carrell behind it, it'll work even though it's been done before. Ed Helms? Not so much.

By the way, speaking of Jim, I feel like he's been turned into a big douche as well. I kind of hope it's intentional at this point. The only thing worse is if they actually do turn the crush that Pam's replacement has on him into some sort of storyline; I don't want to see "a very special episode of The Office" that is all about them fighting and getting a divorce.

I kind of agree. Was thinking about this the other day. When he was the sad-sack, go-nowhere guy pining after the engaged secretary, his antics with Dwight were funny. Now that he's more confident and got the girl, they just make him seem like a dick.

Even beyond the Dwight stuff, all he does now is try to get out of stuff at The Office to go home and be with the baby. Which is fine and understandable, sure, but he always does it in such a smug and dickish way.

So, they are going to make a spinoff with the Dwight Schrute character. Based on him running a B&B on his beet farm.

Checking calendar ... nope, it is not April 1.

This has the potential to be really funny or be a complete disaster. I'm leaning toward disaster.

That would be the way I lean as well. I have not been a fan of the older/meaner Dwight the past few seasons, but if they can get a good cast together it might not be bad.

Jim turned into a d-bag when they changed his hairstyle. He went from fun, good-time Jim to I'm-a-father-and-I'm-tied-down Jim. In last week's episode he left the party early like a bitch.
