FWIW, Entertainment Weekly gives the season premiere a grade of A-.

Am I the last to be watching?

Sure, the fastball is long gone ... but I thought this episode set the rest of the series up nicely. Good to see they are going to put some conflict back into the Jim-Pam dynamic.

I found I enjoyed last night a lot more knowing that there's an endpoint now. The Dwight stuff was goofy but no goofier than some of the crap he did in early seasons. I agree with Gutter on the Pam-Jim thing.

That episode kicked all of Season 8's ass.

That said, the Creed monologue at the end was really, really overwritten.

Kevin and the turtle was inspired.

I was wondering how emotionally tied I was to this show at this point, but my heart kind of sank when Pam confessed to being upset Jim didn't tell her about his new business.

My wife, who watches like no TV ever, has made this appointment viewing. It has been a pretty good season so far.

The only problem is that Erin brings nothing. Just have her sit at the desk and be a worker who doesn't contribute.

I thought last night's episode was great. The beginning when they had Jim's friend playing Jim. Darryl losing his shit. The Michelle Obama thing? I laughed a lot.

That W*A*L*T*E*R plot sounds like an April's Fool joke.

I concur that The Office has picked up its game some this year. Also concur to tone down the Erin stuff, although it appears Andy is in for a big fall soon as they are obviously setting up Erin with the new Jim guy (forget his name).

The fake family photo they staged was the best.
