It's the worst show I watch too. I think Versatile nailed it. I'm only watching because I'm invested and I want to see how it all ends, but I think it's terrible, with maybe a few chuckles thrown in here and there.

Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!

Since the thread has been dug up...I think this season has been a mild resurgence. It's still the worst comedy I watch, but it's been relatively enjoyable this season. Much better than the past couple of years.

Big Circus, I agree. We finally caught up all in one night and the writing is definitely better than the end of last season. I like the new guys, too.

The Grantland guys have been making this point, but I agree - I think a firm end date has really helped focus the season. You don't have to write open-ended "will they won't they" shit with 15 characters because you know everything is done in 15ish shows from here. There is still a lot of slapstick stupidity, like Nellie asking Dwight to cut off her hand, but the show has returned to some of its morose roots at least.

Credit where it's due: I thought last night's episode was really funny. Yeah, it was over the top. But so were the pranks in the earlier seasons. I was entertained. That's all I ask.

The prank call thing was the best plot they've had in a while, mostly because it brought the entire office into play. The Andy-boat thing did nothing for me.

I now take delight in Andy's pain, so I enjoyed it. I don't even know why I've gone full-heel mode on Andy; I didn't hate him this much in previous seasons. But I now hope that in the finale, New Jim is making time with Erin on his desk and he walks in.

Also, subtle little thing - Nice to see them revive the Scranton Strangler thing. It'll be awesome if it really is Toby, as has been hypothesized much earlier in this thread.

So how obvious is it that Dwight and Nellie will procreate, and she won't need the adoption?

I loved the part where Kevin was in with Dwight with *his* shirt and pants off. No words, just a quick pan of the camera.

Yeah, it's been subtle touches like that that have been missing of late. Really, take away the Andy stuff, and it was as close to classic Office as it gets.
