The Office running thread

  1. Jim is a sports douche now. Shooting hoops with Dr. J., and keeping Pam at bay. Just wonder what his company does since no one has marketing experience.

Whole sports-marketing plot a snooze for me. Unless we eventually get to the "moral" of this subplot with Jim realizing the goofballs at Dunder Mifflin are the people he prefers to spend his days with.

  3. Getting worse with a Pam-Jim fight about him working in Philly. Didn't like how they showed the documentary crew.

Yeah, not sure where they are going with revealing the 4th wall ...

They've said by the end of the season we'll know who's making the documentary.

Didn't enjoy the Pam-Jim dust up one bit. We enjoy watching others battle on this show but not the perfect couple.

I didn't mind the gut-wrenching scene of Pam and Jim arguing - it's the kind of icy, uncomfortable thing that there was more of in early seasons. However, I thought it was pretty much undone by them breaking the fourth wall, which just took me completely out of the scene.

And I'm completely on the opposite side. That reveal reeled me back in ... you then remember this is a documentary crew filming them, with them day-in and day-out.

It'd be a hoot if Pam and the sound guy made some noise together. But my guess is she will be tempted by forbidden fruit, then stop short and rededicate herself to Jim. They do have the kids to think of. Can't imagine this show riding off into the sunset and Jim/Pam not being an item for all eternity.

They should have Pam hook up with the documentary guy, then cut to a talking head with Roy who says something like, "Well, it's not like she hasn't done this before."

Obviously it's not going anywhere, but I loved the Brian story line initially. Taking it to the next level of the fight was way too far. Still, getting Jim and Andy out of the office has opened things up so much for other characters. Last week's doubleheader wasn't great, but the three before it were as good as anything in the past three seasons.

Kevin was great in the last episode, calling out the senator for using Oscar and Angela basically as props ... but making sure to compliment him on the snacks.
