If there was a dry eye when Jim cut his tie in half, I'd be surprised.

    Third here.

And dammit. I always cry during weddings, even ones on television. But my eyes were dry for the entire episode.

    Until Jim explained the plans.

    Sniff, sniff.

I've been a grump toward this show lately.

But this was an excellent episode, chuck full of subtle humor. My favorite part, strangely enough, was when the turtle broke out of the box and Dwight had to replace it.

I hate the YouTube video and I hate the idea that those damn hipsters will get the satisfaction of having their stupid wedding dance immortalized in such a pop culture force like The OFfice.

But damned if it The Office and its wonderful and crazy cast of characters that we've all grown to know and love didn't stick the fucking landing by putting it in the show. Bravo. 10.0, even from this crusty judge.

Anyone else think they could have easily made this a two-hour episode.

Heck, SHOULD have made it a two-hour episode?

I don't know about two hours. I mean, if they had included things like the rehearsal dinner, finding the photographer, e.t.c, they could have stretched it out to two hours but would it have been as funny?

I mean, apart from the dance, there wasn't a dull moment in this episode. And even the dance was awesome.

I just honestly think it was the perfect episode.

And kudos to the writing staff for not saving this for a finale of some sort. I like the idea of having this so early in the season, it sets up things nicely.

There were parts of this episode that were flat-out brilliant. And I know it's tough to bring something fresh to a wedding, which almost always is a cliche itself - no matter who's getting hitched.

That said, a few of the wedding ideas came across to me as ripoffs. We've already discussed the youtube video nod/ripoff/satire. But the sneaking-off-to-have-your-own-private-wedding concept was done before by Mad About You. (I joked to the Mrs. that I expected a cameo tonight from Lyle Lovett.) The ship-captain-officiating-the-ceremony, as any child of the '80s remembers, was done on Growing Pains. (Remember the grandmother marrying that old fogey?) And when Michael went into Mee-Maw's room, I expected something right out of American Wedding.

This episode was Michael at his best and Michael at his very worst.

Michael as Pam's mother's boyfriend and Jim's potential step fatherinlaw has sets up the rest of the season nicely. Great Episode.

  10. What happened to Kevin's new girlfriend? They made a big deal of him meeting her at Michael's office blood donor day mixer last year, and she had shown up a couple times since then. But last night he was going stag and getting phone numbers.

Andy busting out a better robot was fantastic.

And he is in with the brunette (who I am getting a serious crush on - crossthread). Any women that lets you rest your sac on her clothing is sending you a huge message.
