Two things: 1. Ben Sheets is dealing. 2. The Royals crowd is rocking. It is good to hear there appears to be more Royals fans there than Red Sox fans.

And they are promptly STFU by Papi.

Indeed. ManRam with the long flyout.

Thank God the Rockies game isn't on. Nothing like Aaron Cook pitching on opening day.

Meche allowed an RBI double to Big Papi real quick. Then a couple stupid Royals fans in the front row, trying to get a souvenir rather than letting John Buck make the catch for the third out.

At least Meche pitched his way out of trouble there with another strikeout.

Meche could be decent this season, but I don't think he will live up to his contract. He looked pretty solid in the first, just threw a dumb 0-2 pitch to Papi right there.

    Nasty splitter by Schilling.

Matt Murton robs pinch hitter Josh Hamilton. I'm a Cubs fan, and I wouldn't have minded that falling.

Impeccable control by Schilling. Walks in a run. 1-1 after the first.

I was hoping. But I'll settle for a tie game with Schilling throwing 34 pitches in the first. Too bad the Royals couldn't get more.

    Two more observations:
    1. Pedroia is an idiot for trying to take second
    2. What is up the ESPN camera work today? Every hit the camera is staring at the sky and then comes down really quick to show what the hell is going on with the ball.
