God bless ESPN. My day is fuller and my life is richer by watching both the Yankees and Red Sox on Opening Day.
Shame it's a once in a season thrill, watching those two storied franchises on ESPN...

Josh Beckett is going to have a monster year.

Gil Meche: WORTH EVERY CENT!!!! :D

Seriously, who would have thought this? Schilling gets torched and Meche throws seven strong innings. Some of those curves were nasty.

    Oz almost predicted it.

What is it, two opening days now that Schilling has been torched by the Royals?

It was the middle of the year last year, but yeah, the Royals own Schiling.

    18 wins, at least.

Gil Meche's 7 1/3-inning stint is the longest Opening Day outing by a Royals starter since Bret Saberhagen in 1988.

    Wow.

Not sure whether the guy with 55 career victories to start the day is worth $55 million over five years, but No. 55 sure did pitch one helluva game this afternoon. :D

I'll believe your prediction on the Yankees winning it all, but I refuse to believe this one.

Ben Sheets' complete game victory was the first for a Brewers' winning pitcher on opening day since Mike Caldwell smacked around the Yankees in 1979.

Again I say it. Son of beech, Sheets!
