And still not worth $11 mill per.

Giving the Royals hope for more than the first three innings is worth much, much more.
This reliever has done a pretty damn good job, too.

I wish I could find a picture of his 1980 Topps card. I had about 100 of those.

I feel better about Meche with that contract than had the Royals signed Ted Lilly for $10 million a season.

The Royals will probably still finish last in the Central, but going back to last year, with their sweep against the AL Champs, probably says a lot about which direction they are heading.

I wish the Mariners were on - never thought I'd say that - because King Felix is dealing right now.

King Felix has 7 strikeouts through 5 scoreless and the Twins just hit back-to-back bombs. Zeke, are you killing a beer for every homer?

    Great stretch for the Twins:

Tejada on first, one out. Johan picks him off, K's Gibbons on the next pith to get out of the inning.

Morneau goes yard the other way on the first pitch from Bedard, Hunter goes oppo on the next pitch and it's 2-0.

Oh, and Joe Mauer is batting 1.000. I fully expect that to continue throughout the campaign.

I expect Mauer to be close to .400 this year. The guy is an absolutely great hitter.

  10. Johan gets out of a jam with first and third with two outs.

He struck out Melvin Mora in the third inning.

    He is looking very good.

That was the first change he threw, in the third.

Mora looked at it like it was a neon-green turd.

Are we sure Mauer's sideburns aren't painted on?
