I have not been to any of the old classic baseball parks. Atlanta Stadium, the Ted, the Astrodome, and that's about it.

I have attended a Birmingham Barons (White Sox AA, Southern League) game at Rickwood Field, though. 1910 vintage ballpark. "42", "Cobb", and "Soul of the Game" all did location filming there. It's a sure 'nuff old ball yard. The Barons and the Black Barons both played there back in the day, so many many legends played on that field..

A game at Crosley Field, so I could understand all my Dad's childhood stories

A night race at Bristol when tickets were impossible

Hinkle Fieldhouse when Milan High won

And as previously said, 1950s Detroit

Would have been something wild to see stock cars on Daytona Beach itself, as opposed to the behemoth across town by I-95.

Inside the London library watching Teller watch those who showed up for his Enoch Soames gag, and to see the smirk of gratification on his face.

While I enjoy Scotiabank Arena, and while it’s in a better part of town and easier to get to for most people, Maple Leaf Gardens was a fantastic place and I’d also love to be able watch another game there. Or wrestling show, or anything. The place just had a scent to it - a potpourri of hot dogs, popcorn, and beer, with a bit of stale smoke mixed in. The buzz in that place still makes me smile.

As for places I never got to visit, the Montreal Forum is at the top for me. Even though I hated that team and likely would have wanted to leave as soon as they scored a goal.

I missed old Offerman Stadium in Buffalo by about five years. I heard it was a gem, even though it was deteriorating at the end.

Vaughn Street in Portland, Seals Stadium in SF, Wrigley and Gilmore Field in Los Angeles, Sicks Stadium in Seattle, Silver Stadium in Rochester, McCoy in Pawtucket, great minor-league parks now lost to history. Would have liked to see them.

Tuesday, April 17, 1906, San Francisco: One day before the earthquake. Sailing ships in the harbor. Horse-drawn wagons. The original skyline. Long before the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges existed.

Actually, I'd even go back before the 1848 discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill and like to see Yerba Buena, before it was covered in buildings and suburbs. I can only imagine the sheer natural beauty of the place.
