I'm sure most of you have heard of the Hyperbolic Chamber used to treat those with Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Well, here is the Concussion Chamber used to treat those with a Concussion. It has been hailed as a major breakthrough in the treatment of concussions.

One symptoms of a concussion can be loss of balance, especially when it is dark and you can't focus on something to use as a point of reference, so removing all chairs to sit on makes perfect sense as part of this medical treatment option.

    Edit: Hyperbaric Chamber

    Buck,

The bottom line is that Leach got pissed at the James kid and decided to screw with him -- not aid his treatment.

And the problem is that you dick around with people like that -- we'll say he's a spoiled, unhappy brat -- and they are the ones who turn you in.

What Leach did was stupid -- not only because it's unjustifiable but because it was going to bite him in the ass.

You really buy the pile that you're shoveling there?

The Times story with Leach version of events seems a lot more plausible then the James version. At some point I am sure the tape of practice in question will be leaked and we can all analyze like the Zagruder film.

Craig James is looking worse each day this story moves.

Mike Leach will be back like Jack Sparrow.

My only hope out of all of this is that The Leach Chamber -- the most important breakthrough in treating concussions ever developed-- is not discarded.

"Craig James required more time than the rest of the parents combined."

Just heard a snippet of the Leach interview on ESPN. Dude is just getting warmed up. Eventually, he's going to really unload. This will be fun to watch.

  7. At the risk of another PM from one of the board's residents hothead calling me a Notre Dame homer, I don't think it would happen there, having been around the school. I did a story a couple years back about a former player who missed most of his senior season with a concussion which seemed to at least exacerbate all sorts of other depression and anxiety issues. The school is so image conscious, to a fault, I can't see them risking this kind of story.

I can't speak for the other schools on your list. I do know that I once watched in horror live as Jim Harbaugh put a quarterback back into a game when he could barely walk from the huddle to the line of scrimmage.

That quote jumped out at me. Imagine The Bear, Woody or Bo even taking a parent call. I thought that stuff stopped in little league.

Leach clearly would have the practice tape. At some point we will see James strutting around field in his street clothes and sun glasses.

We will also hear the tape of James calling Leach pleading for playing time for his son.

Seems like Leach has played it smart. He layed low until everyone else fired their bullets.

When your defense boils down to, "Yeah, we stuck him in a shed because he had a concussion and because he was a pain in the ass whose dad we hate ..." you don't have much of a defense at all. It's hilarious that so many of you think Leach's comments change something. They're an utterly predictable rehash of what his mouthpieces have been saying all along.

Obviously there was a day when a football coach was God and could abuse his players as he wished. Obviously there are still many football coaches who try to run that act.

But that day is over, and if you get caught running that act like Leach did, there's a good chance you're going to get fired. Not a lock, but a good chance.

The world has changed gentlemen, and changed for the better if you're a college athlete. You don't have to like it, of course, but realize that when you try to deny it, you look like the rockhead football coach out of Revenge of the Nerds or something.

Let's look at this another way. Say you go out to a bar and encounter a preppy, entitled, jock with a popped collar and a rich daddy.

You don't like him at all. And feel like punching him in the mouth and keying his car. Is that OK?

Think if he calls the cops that a good defense is that the guy was a spoiled jerk?

Ace's comment should be end of thread, but anyone who hasn't gotten the point by now probably isn't going to get it.
