You forgot hat on backwards and shades. It might be worth it.

Check out the ESPN interview with Leach.

Are you ever going to not be an arrogant prick when someone disagrees with you?

What if I said I believe Leach's side unequivocally? Even so, I believe his actions in disciplining or doctoring James and his refusal to apologize or agree to his bosses' demands were reason to can him.

Apples to ink pens comparison. Leach is in a position of authority over James and is responsible for disciplining him and maintaining discipline on the team (as well as looking out for his health as a player, to be fair), not a guy he ran into at the bar that he'd never met.

If Leach had stuck James in whatever it was just because he showed up to practice with a concussion, then that's one issue. But that's only one side of the story - the other side claims that James got stuck in whatever it was because he refused to participate in the part of practice he was medically cleared for.

I don't know how you can say you believe either side unequivocally in this case.

I'll take that as a no, otherwise there is no reason to go personal there. Thanks.

To answer your question, no, probably not.

No need for him to suit up on Saturday, either. No need for him to even be a member of the team.

But as a member of the team, them is the rules. It's not like Mike Leach came up with a team rule that isn't typical. It's typical for all players--including injured players--to have to be at practice.

Take it however you want. I stand by what I said in both posts quoted here.

Concussion victims should be in a dark place without distractions, where they can rest. There is nothing wrong with that "treatment," and I still have seen no evidence that he was specifically punished BECAUSE he had an injury. He was ordered to do something doctor-approved, he showed some attitude about it, and he was ordered to do something else doctor-approved.

If the trainers are telling the truth, and I believe them over Leach AND James, at no point was he mistreated.

Well, as I said earlier, you're entitled to believe anything you want, even that a football coach can banish injured players to a dark shed. Just realize most most folks - including just about all parents of athletes and most coaches - will look at you and wonder what sort of strange, football coach-worshipping world you come from.

If you need further proof of that, consider that a Div. I school in West Texas just canned the most successful coach in school history for actions you see no problem with. In West Texas, which isn't exactly known for patting football players on the head and saying "Pooooor wittle bunny ..."

You guys are seriously a rip. I love this thread.

On Game Day this a.m. I saw Nicj Saban screaming at his players. He is a bad man that should not be around the youth of America
