If that lawsuit goes to court and his coaching days are over.

It won't go to court. They'll settle for $3 mil to $5 mil. That's how these things work.

I don't think either side wants to go through the discovery process, depositions, testimony in open court, etc. However, Leach is wacky enough he might not give a crap.

No way it's going to trial. The math does not work. There will be a settlement. Leach will get a new gig and the James family will be the laughing stock of college football.

Agree completely. If Mangino got $3 million, Leach will probably get around $5 million.

He punished the kid for having a concussion. Then when he was called in it, he had his coaches and former players rip the kid. I don't care if the James kid was a spoiled brat or if his father came to every practice, what Leach did was simply wrong.

Also, the difference between Adam James and other kids is that his family had enough power to actually do something about the treatment

I'd agree. Leach seems to be just enough of an asshole to think he needs to go to court and rub it in the Tech administrators' faces. If he does, I have a feeling it blows up in his face big-time.

I'm really surprised these supposed "smart" people at Texas Tech operate. WHY in the world would you EVER put this down in e-mails? Why?

In my own e-mail correspondence from work - with a private company not a PUBLIC university subject to FOI requests - I never WRITE anything that I wouldn't be fine with my boss reading. If I have a criticism, I keep it vocal and quiet. No paper trial.

Why would he be released? He won; no way the school is going to indirectly make Leach look better by allowing James to be nuked.

If James decides he wants to transfer, I don't think the school would fight it. And if you're Adam James, would you want to show your face around Lubbock?

Well, yeah, there's the "fanboi bullies do suck factor," and James may choose to self-nuke. But no way Tech will do it itself.

Unless the school wants to fuck around with him and make him sit out two years according to the crappy NCAA rule.
