I was in Louisville for the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament as part of a group of eight. On Friday night we decided we'd stay in and order pizza. Guy at the front desk says to call Wick's Pizza. We order two pizzas — I know what you're thinking; there's no way that's enough for eight guys — and the guy on the phone says it's $77.

Well, when we open the box after the pizzas arrive, we notice they are cut in 4"x4" squares, and then we figure out why. There are so many toppings on this monstrosity (I remember pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, meat balls, black olives, green olives and bacon), plus cheese on top of the toppings, that no paper plate could possibly handle a slice cut in the conventional manner. The delivery guys says each pizza weighs 10 pounds.

It was fabulous and, no, we didn't finish them. I'll be passing through Louisville again this summer and definitely have Wick's on my to-do list.

There is a pizza place over near the Port Authority. The quality is meh, but the price can't be beat. It was two slices and a can of soda for $2.

It's a shame Versatile isn't here (or is he?) to tell us how we're all doing it wrong.

Shottie, is House of Pizza still there? I've been to Caretti's on the north side of town. It's pretty good.

Christian's in the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville is the place to go for a slice.

The one on the left. ...is that a bowl of Campbell's tomato soup? Why is it on a pizza thread? The thing on the right is kind of pizzalike, though, I guess. A bit like posting a picture of a donut on a thread about neopolitans, but at least they're both in the pastry family.

    Not disagreeing with you.

It's from the website of the place we ordered from last night. Ours resembled the one on the left.

When it's 11:00 at night, and you've been in a hospital ER for hours, it's not bad.

He was dealing with an emergency, Ragu. Why such an asshole?

Please tell us you missed the part where YF was in an ER.

If that's the case, fair enough.

Just saw the pictures. Had no clue that was the pizza he ate while he was in the ER, when I posted that. I thought they were pictures from a pizzeria near where he lives.

Either way, I am playing around with the "no pizza is good as my pizza" thing.
