One of the things that fueled the punk rock explosion in the late-70s, beyond the whole DIY ethos, was kids who were living in shitty council estates with unemployed parents because the economy was in ruins railing at bloated, wealthy tax exile rock stars and the royals who were living extravagantly on the public dime. Those tourists are money.

Bizarrely, I spent one day in London this summer - July 4. I went to the changing of the guard, and after some more formal songs, they spent what must have been 20 minutes going through most of the Top Gun sound track.
