The Ray Rice Elevator Video

I think that has something to do with the timing of this news.
NFLN just did something on it with a less amped-up Scott Hanson.

 

I'd be stunned. But the person who should lose his job, today, is the Ravens head of PR.

 

To be fair, we don't know that not to be the case. After seeing the video, it seems hard to imagine that this was an isolated incident, but we have no proof it wasn't.

 

I can see why she'd want to keep him in the league. If he keeps playing, the baby's future is secured. If he doesn't play, he doesn't have a single other life skill to make money.

 

In today's performance of 2 Girls 1 Cup, the part of the cup with be played by Roger Goodell.

 

Right. Plus, how often have we seen the wife come forward saying things were overblown? The difference here is we have video.

 

I don't think Goodell gets shitcanned. I do think this leads to a broader review of his job performance, and that could result in him choosing to spend time with his family or pursue other opportunities. He really hasn't done much right.

 

It's also now fair to speculate that Mrs Rice could have been threatened sufficiently by Ray Rice to make her say anything. That she was married under duress and anything she said to the NFL should be completely discounted as coming from someone who is scared to death of being beaten or even killed.

If Goddell saw this video at any time before imposing his punishment, he is a goner.

NFL.com finally has a headline up about this. It went up at 12:36 p.m., EST.

 

I doubt his wife needed to be reminded how much $$$ he stood to lose if his NFL career went away. But, was he ever in danger of being banned from the league?

The NFL is maintaining that it hadn't seen the video until today. If they all want to keep their jobs, they'll stick to that story whether it's the truth or not.

 

John Harbaugh needs to resign. Goodell will never step down nor will his handlers show him the door. They just gave him a raise, for fuk sake. This is his dream job, and his reward for being a senator's son.
