DD has gone into full on, angry attack mode to push his side, so I'm just fine standing up for my end, too.

But there's no way to say who's right. Have to wait and see. Then we can come back and thumb our noses at everyone in 2016. :)

OOP, you know I like you and I enjoy arguing with your deluded self. But, damn, sometimes you need to know when to accept defeat.

If Rice had been replaced by a fourth-round draft pick who was blowing up, I could understand your argument. But Forsett (who I love this season, since he's on my fantasy team) is obviously a journeyman. He's been "good enough" to stick around the league for a few years, but he's having a career season. It's not hard to envision Rice, who is a Pro Bowler, to have this kind of a season if not for the fact that he is human shit. Yes, he's human shit for what he did to Janay.

Sometimes, it's better to just bow out gracefully, dude.

I rather enjoyed Double Down's work these last few pages, especially the note that Gee is a reverse oracle.

As a result, I added Ray Rice to my fantasy team.

    No, not kidding.

Why would I accept a defeat that did not happen? Because DD writes about the Ravens? (I know many of you know his real name and more. I do not, nor do I care.) Sorry, but we question experts, insiders and beat reporters all the time around here. That is part of the function of this place. DD apparently either forgot that or he thinks he is somehow above it or he wouldn't be so upset that I dared to question him.

I know you don't see it and you have plenty of company, but that's fine. I'm used to standing on my own around here and as I mentioned earlier, I've been proven right in enough of those situations that I see no need to change. Even the Braun argument isn't what some make it out to be. LTL and others have been searching desperately for a long time for a post in which I claimed Braun was clean. They still haven't found it. Why? Because I never said that. I simply used that situation as part of an ongoing discussion regarding how lazy and sloppy far too many folks here and many other places are in making accusations of PED use. Did I push it a bit too far? Probably, but my primary point still stands just fine no matter how much some folks bask in 20/20 hindsight.

But I'm getting off topic. Back to the matter at hand.

Rice was a Pro Bowler. That does not mean he still is one. I believe his numbers were a combination of the team's troubles and his own diminishing skills. Also, for the record, I never claimed Rice did not have enough left to be useful. DD incorrectly asserted that I made that point, but I did not. There is a hell of a lot of room between being washed up and averaging 5.8 yards per carry with 900 yards rushing through 11 games (Forsett's numbers).

I never claimed that Forsett was a star who just needed an opportunity. I've seen enough of him before this season to know better. He is an excellent fit for the Raven's system and the line has been outstanding. I have no doubt that the Ray Rice of 2012 or earlier would be even better than what Forsett has been this season. Rice was a monster. I just don't think he is that player any more and the evidence we have supports my position quite well.

Oh, and by the way, can we talk about Peter King's reporting on the subject of Janay Rice's actual testimony to Goodell?

Haven't seen it, but it certainly sounds relevant. What about it?

Yet it is Today. I saw a mention of it during the local news on my local NBC affiliate.
