A guy who works for NFL Network just picked him up in my league. I wonder if he knows something the rest of us don't? :D

The interesting move would be for the Ravens to pick him up. I'm guessing they want to get as far away as possible from the guy.

I would imagine the only teams that would even consider signing him would be teams in the playoff hunt with injuries or issues at RB. A few teams fall into that category, but I still say nobody signs him, not that that's any kind of bold prediction.

    Watch Belichick pick him up.

Is it just me, or is the Janay Rice "as told to story" taking more criticism than the Lebron James one?

    It's just you.

It's clearly labeled "in her own words." She could have written anything and it would be fine. There's a hundred-plus-year history of this kind of thing.

I do wish they had discussed deep-sea fishing, though.

I think you missed my question.

I wasn't asking if anyone besides me was bothered by it.

I was asking if it's receiving more criticism than the LeBron James "essay" did.

I'd link to some of the criticism I've seen, but much of it is on subscription only websites that only DD and I subscribe to.

    It is a fair question.

What exactly did Jemele do here?

No question is off-limits, but Janay has final say over what was printed? Right...

Do those subscription websites have naked pix of athletes' wives?

Sure, she could have written anything, but if ESPN is looking for something newsworthy, and not just an "exclusive" then whatever she wrote might not be worth publishing.

Reminds be of the Pitch from Seinfeld:

RUSSELL: All right, tell me, tell me about the stories. What kind of stories?

    GEORGE: Oh, no. No stories.

RUSSELL: No stories? So, what is it?

GEORGE: (Showing an example) What'd you do today?

RUSSELL: I got up and came to work.

    GEORGE: There's a show. That's a show.

RUSSELL: (Confused) How is that a show?

JERRY: Well, uh, maybe something happens on the way to work.

GEORGE: No, no, no. Nothing happens.

    JERRY: Well, something happens.

RUSSELL: Well, why am I watching it?

    GEORGE: Because it's on TV.

    RUSSELL: (Threatening) Not yet.

An exclusive account from Janay Rice would be newsworthy regardless of the circumstances or what's in it, as long as it deals in some way with Ray Rice and the NFL.

if Janay has final editorial control, does she get paid for the work?
