I had no idea it was a thing.

When I first saw it here, I thought the person did it by accident.

Looking at just the transcript, this is more embarrassing for the Ravens than anybody else.

It's not uncommon at all for PR flaks to write up stuff like that, but it does look bad to those who don't know how these things usually work.

It looks bad to anyone who saw her this summer apologize about her part in the incident.

Has anyone asked Janay how many times Rice had punched her out before?

I think the part that looks bad is that the Ravens suggested she apologize for her part. At first, I thought it was no big deal, they just gave her some talking points. Happens all the time. But for them to suggest to her that she apologize for getting knocked out is ludicrous.

The interview also looked bad for Goodell, with Janay saying that Ray was not vague at all about what happened and that she "can't say Goodell is telling the truth."

    Very true. Very good point.

Considering how idiotic it was for the Steelers to cut Blount and gift-wrap a big back with relatively fresh legs this late in the season, it would only seem fair that the Steeles should be able to sign Rice without any criticism. :D

I think given the interviews that NBC had today, it's even further proof that Jemele didn't get shit out her "exclusive" "in her own words" story.

Boy, is that true. Watching Lauer and reading the ESPN piece, totally different tone. Lauer asking about watching the video was good interviewing.

Agreed, though I don't buy a word that comes from any of the major players here.

Regarding the other bit, the Steelers would absolutely deserve some heat if they signed Rice, but it wouldn't shock me if they did. Clearly, they have no faith in the backs they have behind Le'Veon Bell, nor should they. I still think there was a lot more to the story behind cutting Blount than we have seen reported, but the more I think about it, the less I understand why they cut him rather than suspend him.

Tony Dungy really say he'd sign Rice?
