PK's source: I assume the NFL has seen the video.
PK: You assume? Ok, sure. That's good enough for me! [writes that the NFL has seen the video]

The best way to make this story go away ASAP is for the Ravens to
immediately suspend Rice indefinitely for "conduct detrimental to the team".

This this what The Dolphins did last year with Incognito and after that the story
    pretty much flamed out.

Perhaps it had something to do with CBA but the NFL was clear to point out that
it was a "team" suspension and not a "league" suspension.

  5. Call the Ravens and tell them to suspend Rice Indefinitely - ala Miami and Incognito - for conduct issues.

    Yep.

Roger Goodell needs to call a news conference right now. Actually, he needed to call it three hours ago. Stand up in front of the cameras and everyone else and say what he said in the letter to the owners: "I blew it. This is on me. And in light of this video, which I had not seen until this morning (*cough* *cough* just go with the lie to cover yourself), and the fact it is "new" evidence, I am now suspending Ray Rice for one season. Acts like this will not be tolerated by him or anyone else in this league. And if the NFLPA wants to fight me on it -- bring it on."

Meanwhile, Ray Rice is scheduled to be reinstated to the Ravens on Friday.

$42 million a year doesn't buy what it used to.

No group of reporters gets co-opted and made to feel like they're a part of the group they cover quite like NFL reporters are. Not even White House reporters.

That would be the smart move. Goodell is probably on the phone with Newsome now, begging him to do this.

exactly. Make the NFLPA the bad guy. "Based on evidence unavailable to the NFL at the time and Rice's misstatements, he is suspended indefinitly. " let the NFLPA take the heat.

Delusion is the national pastime. Like the NFL, the Ravens and their players believed what they wanted to believe.
