Remember when John Harbaugh said that the two game suspension was a good teaching moment for the children?

Not on "indefinite suspension," he won't.

No doubt that Goodell saw the tape but how would he legally admit to it? It was not a
public document and was considered evidence as part of a criminal case.
Goodell / NFL would have had no legal right to view.

The only thing he should have done is made the suspension much longer than
2 games. If suspension had been at least 6 games and tape came out I don't
think the outcry would have been as bad.

Goodell should be gone. So should Harbaugh and Newsome, who aided and abetted a guy who punched his wife in the face. Absolutely inexcusable.

Oh, and Peter King needs to be done, too. There are honest "mistakes" made by reporters -- but failing to follow up a source on a story of this magnitude robs him of any credibility in the future, IMHO. I've admittedly never been much of a fan; now I'll never believe another word he writes.

Remarkable how so many accomplished people managed to cover themselves in horseshit during this entire episode.

Exactly. This is one of those rare cases where every single person involved is a monstrous sack of shit. There is no good guy.

Janay Rice is a victim, yes, but the way she backtracked, pleaded for leniency and tried to cover for a monster who just happened to be her meal ticket didn't exactly drape her in glory.

The Ravens deleted the Janay Rice Tweet about a half-hour ago:

your agreement to provide confidentiality to a source should be contingent upon the source providing truthful information. If King's source lied, king needs to out him. Otherwise, I think King is lying now.

Goodell is an employee. The owners know he's a servant, a well paid servant, but a servant none-the-less. Not family.

Deadspin is killing it today. This one is a roundup of everything said in service of misdirection:

Rice's lawyer, Michael Diamondstein, a week after the plea deal: "And hypothetically we litigate 100 motions and the video comes out and the video shows — hypothetically speaking now, hypothetically speaking — shows that Ray wasn't the first person that hit and Ray was getting repeatedly hit but just Ray hit harder, fired one back and hit harder. Hypothetically speaking, and he gets found not guilty. Is that result somehow better? Is it better for the public? Is it better for the Ravens? Is it better for Ray? Is it better for Janay?"

But it's a "source" and there isn't enough money in the world to make King out the "source" because that would make him look worse.

If he wants to salvage MMQB right now he should probably remain quiet.
