I'm asking this question honestly, with no attempt at placing any blame whatsoever at Janay Rice: What does she do now that the family income has dried up? Is it a legtimate question involving domestic abuse victims who are married to upper-income people such as pro athletes, lawyers or hedge fund managers? I would be curious if there are studies out there that show a higher level of enabling from the victim because they don't want to upset the gravy train.

No one believed Paula Corbin Jones. I bet that she wishes a video existed.

Did Rice spend all of that $25 million?

I know this will blow your mind hondo, but Janay Palmer Rice has a colleg degree and comes from a two parent home.

What you're describing happens in lower- and middle-income families, too.

He spent at least half of it -- and likely more -- the second he put his hands on his wife.

If I were a close friend or family member, I'd advise her to take the money and run like hell. Soak him for all you can get.

If it were my daughter, she'd be a widow ... and that's not internet muscles talking, either. My dad used to smack my mom around and when I was 13 I nearly took his head off with a bat before she stopped me. Went to therapy and still have a hard time dealing with the memories.
