    THIS.

It's more homogenized than ever. They unneccessarily run over the players when its not needed and they treat them like special needs students in a cafeteria when its not neccessary.

The sport is over exposed. Waaaaay too much talk and hype. ESPN, Fox, NBC treat the NFL like America treated Eisenhower in mid-50's.

Mrs Abbot wondered why they penalize for post TD celebrations, but not post tackle celebrations. The product is getting boring mainly because the pace of the entire game is slow. The NFL offenses are getting more fun to watch, but the games still last way too long. Unnecessarily prolonged.

IS it Goodell's fault? Or is the cycle?

HE certainly acts as if the NFL is the Vatican and the Politburo rolled into one and he's Chairman Mao.

Why was the freaking head coach the only one on the firing line yesterday? Where was Newsome? Where was the owner?

    Utterly incompetent organization.

Agreed. Seems like Bisciotti should have been the face of organization
    yesterday.

I don't think you know what "indefinite" means.

In this case, it's probably code for "whenever the shitshow blows over and people aren't paying attention anymore."

Agree with the above. Only things that really matter are: (a) the CBA, which was a huge and lucrative victory over De Smith and the PA; (b) the TV money, which keeps going up and up.

Goodell got a $25 million-ish raise after the CBA kicked in. I think the owners are pretty happy with him.

Cutting a player is not the coaches responsibility, thats the GM/Owner. Harbaugh means douche bag in Old German but even he deserved better than to be thrown out there

It just keeps getting more curious:

In response to inquiries from ABC News, the New Jersey State Police said the statement from the NFL is not accurate.

"Investigations of incidents on the casino floor are handled by the NJSP, but this occurred in the elevator and was handled by the [Atlantic City Police Department]," an NJSP spokesman said. "We never had the video."

Roger Goodell will remain golden as long as the TV deals keep vastly increasing the size of the pie and the labor deals keep increasing the owners' share of the pie. Unless something comes along that threatens franchise value the owners don't give a fuck.

I don't believe for a second that the league office didn't see or couldn't get access to the elevator videos.

What's amazing is that if you asked people to rank the Top 5 best run teams in the NFL, the Ravens would be on an overwhelming majority of those lists. That would include owner, GM and coach.

Obviously, the franchise's reputation is taking a huge hit as a result of this, as it should.

Yeah, never heard that word before.

Not so sure about that. I don't think too many owners think Goodell deserves credit for the size of the TV deals. It's not like he took a struggling league and made it viable.

It means sometimes between when the shitstorm blows over and when the Raiders want to add him to the roster.
