Fay Vincent wasn't fired over flagging revenues.

No, because he intervened to end the 1990 lockout and owners were afraid he wouldn't take a hard-enough line in the upcoming labor battle that resulted in the 1994 strike.

As long as the NFL has the NFLPA under its thumb, I don't see a similar issue in Goodell's future.

The Ravens would have to tell the judge why they chose, on that day of all days, to terminate the contract. Any excuse with the video, and Rice would have a claim that they ended his contract as punishment.

As far as the NFLPA goes, they should be appealing for Rice on the basis that the league is not obeying their own rules. They should be spinning it that he already was being punished with the two-game suspension and that the league is committing double jeopardy. Yes, that is a legal term and the league is a private business. But keep spinning it as "we don't punish twice for the same crime in this country" defense.

Considering the storm this thing has caused - it makes you wonder how long it will take for some player to get squeezed by those with interests on the point spread.

That section gets trotted out every time one of these dirtbags gets cut. Aaron Hernandez filed a grievance for his guaranteed pay.

That article mentions the "leadership" word - Goodell started that bs during his "I got it wrong" phase. The NFL made sure that word was forwarded to that stumblebum Berman last night. He repeated it several times, along with his other ridiculous talking point: "quickly".

The funny thing is, the LAST thing this league shows is leadership. The actions yesterday were based not on the video, but the outrage to the video. Goodell sways to public opinion like a flag in a windstorm. He's the exact opposite of a leader.

I think Berman was drunk last night, Poindexter. He simply was not making sense from kickoff until the end.
Horrible broadcast of what was a pretty good game.

So, apparently last night the hashtags #whyistayed and #whyileft were trending in response to the Rice situation, and people were using them to tell their own experiences with domestic abuse.

    Enter DiGiorno Pizza:

    #WhyIStayed You had pizza.

I didn't think it was resolved yet. Can't find any resolution on Google either.

Google search does not show that a decision has been rendered yet on appeal.
