Generic talking points have been established for a reason.

I'm not sure why we're looking for some unseen reason for why she's acting the way she is.

The generic reasons are more than enough, and the most likely.

    1, Still young, attractive, smart.

2, Not everything is iron-clad because of bullet points.

3, With that said, maybe she falls into one of those categories.

Women who are young, smart and attractive are not immune to domestic violence.

You're really fooling yourself if you think, "oh she would never allow that to happen to her."

"What does that mean that [Rice] was suspended indefinitely," Norah O'Donnell asked. "Does that mean Ray Rice will never play in the NFL again?"

"I don't rule that out, but he would have to make sure that we are fully confident that he is addressing this issue," Roger Goodell said. "Clearly, he has paid a price for the actions he has already taken."

"To paraphrase Fox & Friends, don't get caught beating women on camera and you're safe to play in the NFL."

When a newspaper in Boston, NY, DC, Chicago, LA or SF write an article with that kind of truth then something may happen, but if it's left to The Daily Beast it's easy to ignore. But real journalists can't deal with the racial disparity of DV abusers in the NFL.

Yes it is. And has been for decades. But, as usual, nobody can focus their outrage on more than one thing at a time. Whether it's a senseless killing somewhere or a domestic violence incident in an elevator, just give us one of these at a time, please, to dominate the news cycle for a week or so. We'll ignore all the rest because, frankly, it's just too much to keep up with.

How many were caught on tape?

What do you suggest "we" do instead? Cover them all? Ignore them all?

Anger that's brought on by one specific incident can never be used to try to address the totality of the issue?

When about 50 (90?) (120?) (150?) other current wife-beating players get suspended, I'll believe someone is really trying to "address the totality of the issue" (instead of just playing to the media outrage of the day).

We just inducted a wife-beater into baseball's Hall of Fame. Not that anyone cared, of course.

But he got the most out of his players, so that's different.
