The problem is that people - and not just sports people - are now going after his entire record on domestic violence. This feels like an avalanche starting.

What color represents domestic violence? Whatever it is, have the players wear wristbands and towels in November after the pink ones.

It's really impossible for you to keep politics out of any discussion here, isn't it? I mean literally, it always comes back to Clinton or the current president, not matter what the subject is. Can we have a discussion about literally anything without needling liberals about what hypocrites they are? You're a smart guy and unlike many of my posse, I tend to enjoy your contrarian views and zinging one another, but seriously, how is that you lack this much self control on this issue? I don't like the No Politics rule either. I think it's utter bullshit and it's made the board worse by saying it's off limits. But you are literally the SJ embodiment of The Forever War on this issue. You cannot leave it alone, even if we're discussing ice cream.

No joke, I know some guys got out of youth coaching because they were
so resentful of the NFL Heads Up Certification being forced upon them.

They felt it was not to help the kids but to help The NFL's reputation
and they wanted no part of it.

Quick amendment. Not unless it comes out -- definitively -- that Goodell saw the 2nd video before Monday. Then, I think it's inevitable.

When the discussion gets to, "where is/was the outrage," it's appropriate to look at our history of protecting people in power.

We're all furious that the NFL and the Ravens circled the wagons to protect Ray Rice. We're calling for Roger Goodell's head.

This is the history. This is why there is no moral high ground.

Penn State protected Jerry Sandusky. The music industry protected Michael Jackson. Hollywood is protecting Bryan Singer. The Catholic Church protected pedophile Priests. And, Bill Clinton was protected.

If you want to know why there's no moral outrage, it's because we're not consistent. We are all guilty of protecting our own. And, nothing is ever going to change unless and until we all decide to protect victims. We need to protect the powerless, not the powerful.

But, hey, the girl making accusations against Jerry Jones is a former stripper, so fuck that slut. She's clearly in it for the money. Nothing to see here.

I get it. But the fuck part of "No Politics" rule are you exempt from? Why do you feel this is beneath you at every turn and play a role in getting countless threads locked or shut down? I get that you're annoyed by it, that it something you obsess over daily and it defines you much the way my passions define me. But this is an important thread. It's one that I'd like to see continue. There is a rule here that you can't discuss politics and we've had it play out over and over. I don't like it, but it's what's been decided again and again. At the very least, needle the moderators and owners by starting political threads so the rest of us can do our best to discuss sports and sports journalism within the boundaries laid out repeatedly.

Not to mention that when NOW jumped into the fray, it would be hard not to forget
how they supported that man in the place on Pennsylvania Ave.
