    If he spells it out (clearly), he loses the power to make arbitrary decisions. The league is not going to limit itself in that way.

    Here we go.

    AP is reporting that an NFL executive saw the tape from the elevator 3 months ago, according to a law enforcement official who says he gave it to them.

    Now, Goodell is caught in a lie. This is a devastating development for the NFL.

    Roger Goodell is officially toast.

    I will be shocked if the owners look the other way on this one, regardless of how much revenue the NFL is pulling in.

    This was my post the day the elevator video came out. Even before Goodell went out and told a big, fat lie. Just the "Given the new info, we are changing the suspension" thing struck me as disingenuous.

    The league employes ex secret service and FBI agents to do its investigations. There was just zero chance that they hadn't gotten their hands on that tape -- either directly from the casino or via their network within the law enforcement community.
